Ideaz unlimited holds the rare distinction of pioneering and installing the “GOA- CSR awards ,the first of its kind way back in  2009  ,with  aim of  encouraging industries be it small, medium or large scale to invest ,support into sustainable CSR in the community with focus on Environment ,education, Health ,Community Development and work place practices.

It was a super hit from the word go ,with the then  State Chief Secretary Mr.Sanjay Shrivastava readily accepted our invite to head  the Panel of judges ,which bought much required sincerity and seriousness, to inculcate the values of responsible business and every year we roped in a local  Management institute in Goa to  draft, revise the criteria for the entries  ,shortlisting and evaluation ,the Management students under supervision from their faculties made presentation /recommendations to the panel of judges .

These awards soon got the coveted status and created required excitement and spirit to do a impact /result oriented CSR and not just one of event.

Our experience tells us that CSR though a very popular verbiage has not been consistently efficient and effective due to several reasons ,one being lack of organised research ,most of the time CSR has been manifested as activities ,events not as a sustainable process and instead of community as epicentre for CSR research  its mostly the industry /corporate brand/ funding /budget which becomes the nucleus of CSR and it is again restricted to funding or pledging man hours ,this has lead to  stereo typing and lowering the ROI and ROTI ,not that the current initiatives are less important but in a country like ours  which has its own diversity ,complexity and  challenges ,one standard formula, understanding ,application of CSR will not yield required traction and hence its time to bring innovation in CSR thoughts ,feeling and action.

However during last decade we also saw that the state of Goa went through a unprecedented transition in almost all the spheres and there was a vacuum and almost stalling of CSR activities due to the ban on mining and this was a double blow on one side the community which was dependent on mining directly or indirectly were thrown out of gear and also were debt ridden ,several CSR initiatives which were funded by mining barons were abandoned abruptly which almost destabilised the CSR ecosystem which was just gaining some shape .
